Balance is a skill, and like any skill, it declines without practice and improves with it — at any age. Falls are one of the most disruptive events to independence later in life, and most of that risk is modifiable.
Simple exercises like standing on one leg near a sturdy surface, heel-to-toe walking, or gentle weight shifts build the stability that everyday movement depends on.
A few minutes most days is enough to build noticeable, lasting improvement.
